If you aren’t able to make the 8-week commitment, I completely understand! Any time moving and breathing on and off of their mats is valuable and worthwhile. I would love for your Little Yogi to join us for as many practices as you can! Drop ins are always welcome if there is space. Description:

“There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million.” - Walt Streightiff

Watching how little ones move and breathe and exist in space can teach us so much about the practice of yoga. They stretch their arms as wide as they can for hugs and stories and rock walls.  They try new things without the fear of falling or failing or feeling embarrassed for not looking a certain way. They use all of their limbs to crawl and roll and jump and swing and dance. Their chests, ribs, and belly expand with their deep, sleepy breaths. They are in awe of their bodies and their world. They aren’t afraid to take up space and ask questions. Life is all about play, exploration, presence, big feelings and testing boundaries, limits, and at times, their parents’ patience :) What a great reminder to show up fully on and off the yoga mat. I’d love for you to bring your little yogis to come practice with me!

The “Little Yogis” class series is all about celebrating our unique differences, respecting our autonomy over our bodies and our learning, and fostering well-being in an inclusive, safe, interactive, and fun environment.

Each class there will be opportunities for engaging games, read alouds, music and singing, playful yoga sequences, interactive breathing exercises, and relaxation/mindfulness activities to nurture the whole child. This class will be a great introduction to the benefits of yoga for families who are curious about the practice. We will learn about self-regulating tools to help navigate big feelings, develop kinesthetic awareness, inspire creativity, play, and connection with others, and the list goes on!

Testimonials:

“Sarah is a teacher through and through. Her face lights up when she teaches. She is full of energy. She is such a positive person; it translates to her students, making them eager to learn.” - Teresa N.

“If I had had a teacher like Sarah when I was young, I would have thought I could grow up to do and be anything I wanted to be. The way she talks to children breathes life into them. They believe they are capable, strong, resilient, and that they can make the world better by being themselves.” - R. Williams

“We loved every class! Thank you for bringing your warm, silly, loving, creative energy to each session. What a blast! “ - L. Corbin

About the Teacher:

Sarah Arteaga has her M.Ed, PreK-12 teaching certification, and over 20 years of teaching experience in learning settings ranging from camps and after school programs to K-12 public schools and universities. She is an E-RYT 200, RPYT, and YACEP yoga teacher who has been teaching children’s and teen’s yoga since 2016. She has taken over 150 hours of coursework in Yoga for the Classroom, Mindful Schools, and Mindfulness training. Sarah conveys an energetic, light-hearted, yet grounded approach to yoga, infusing her classes with opportunities for her students to be creative, silly, strong, open minded, compassionate, and confident in who they are and what their bodies and minds can do. She encourages her students to make time in their day for themselves, for movement and breath work, and for cultivating their practice on and off of their mats. Sarah is a Mamá to two little yogis. She enjoys spending time outside with her husband and their kiddos, reading and writing poetry, and singing loudly and unapologetically when the mood strikes her.
