Hello and welcome! My name is Sarah Arteaga, and I’m the Founder of Village Vinyasa LLC. I am an E-RYT 200, RPYT, and YACEP yoga teacher as well as a certified/licensed PreK - 12th grade teacher with a Masters Degree in Education. I have over 20 years of experience teaching children and 10+ years teaching yoga and mindfulness. Ever the yoga, meditation, and movement student myself, I have taken over 150 hours of additional coursework in Yoga for the Classroom, Mindful Schools, and Mindfulness training, as well as Thai Yoga Massage and Bodywork training.

I am thrilled and humbled to share that Village Vinyasa received Coastal Virginia Magazine’s Gold “Best of” Readers’ Choice Award for 2026 for “Yoga and Special Fitness” for the Virginia Peninsula. I teach prenatal, postnatal, children’s, teen’s, and family yoga. I also enjoy practicing and teaching vinyasa and restorative yoga. My teaching experience includes yoga and mindfulness in public and private school settings for students and staff, professional development for teachers, camps, yoga studios, athletic practices, workshops, pop-up and corporate yoga events, and retreats.

When it comes to my teaching style, I try my best to convey an energetic, light-hearted, yet grounded approach to yoga by infusing my classes with opportunities for my students to find their edge and find their center. I encourage my students to make time in their day for themselves, for movement and breath work, and for cultivating their practice on and off of their mats.

Every time we practice together, we …

I am also a runner and the group leader for Flight Club at Bird Girl Bottle Shop. We are an all paces run/walk group that every 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursday at 6pm. We would love to see you!

I am a proud Mamá to two wee ones! I enjoy spending time outside with my husband and our kiddos, reading and writing poetry, and singing loudly and dancing unapologetically when the mood strikes me.

I hope to see you on your mats and on the move soon!
